You do not have the backing of even most travelers. You are fighting a lost cause because I promise you this..virtually the whole country is against you.
I personally regret this not happening in the states, because two things could have happened. Firstly the home owner could have rightfully blown the assailant's heads clean off in self-defense. Instant justice based on a real, credible threat. Don't like it? Don't provide an environment in which you raise feral rats and then turn around and blame innocent people for the problems your litter have created. Terrorise society and society will reserve the God-damn right to take appropriate measure. And if there's a go fund me for the victims in this..the elderly man and his family..then I'll contribute.
