Also, yes I think cycling in people's blind spot as they're indicating is very bad practice and would merit a honk but to be clear, this car was stationary and had no chance to be otherwise. There were two vehicles ahead of it, both indicating right, and a stream of cars headed in opposite direction on Coldharbour preventing them from going right. I'm not a righteous cyclist, and anyway am totally cool about people yelling for no reason, just part of being in London traffic, this was a seriously out of order aggressive response.

Both men were Asian, bearded, driver was in 40s and the other in late 20s perhaps? Sorry for not returning to this post and answering your responses, I've only done so as spotted the car at the same spot — Atlantic Road — this time illegally parked. Turns out the car is dark grey, not black as I remembered. It was parked in front of the mini cab office.

22:29 14 July 2017 this black Toyota Prius was stationary at the Coldharbour Lane x Atlantic Road traffic lights waiting on Coldharbour Lane heading West, indicating to turn left onto Atlantic Road heading South.

As the traffic lights changed, I filtered to the lefthand side of this vehicle on a bicycle. The two cars ahead of it were indicating right and were both stationary as traffic heading East on Coldharbour Lane was preventing them from turning. This means the Prius was stationary and unable to be anything but stationary. Despite this, the driver shouted abuse (something about "fucking b*tch") out of the window and honked his horn repeatedly. I drive down this road every day, have been doing for 10 years, and although I know that Friday late night in Brixton is a bit boisterous, this still shocked me. I hadn't done a thing wrong or put him at any inconvenience nor had I put myself or anyone else in danger. I stopped and turned around and shouted "What?!"

My partner, also on a bike, stopped too in front of the car (lights have now changed to red) and asked what was happening. The driver then starts hollering that he is going to run him over and kill him. The passenger was getting out of the car too and generally acting aggressively. They were obviously just cruising about looking for a fight. Two men telling people they're going to run them over in London so soon after the Westminster bridge attack is not cool.

Anyway, I didn't want hassle, so cycled on up Coldharbour Lane and beckoned for my partner to follow once the lights turned green. Rather than turning left as they had originally indicated, these guys start following us, running up close behind the bikes, swerving at us, revving the engine and shouting abuse out of the window. In the end we just stopped in a park and waited for them to go away. To be fair, they didn't look much of a threat but definitely a pain in the arse and really weird to be so aggressive about nothing.

If anyone else has an altercation with this driver, would recommend reporting. I didn't get round to it in time (you need to do within 24 hours).

Do you mean was the car stationary after the lights changed red? Yes, the Prius was stationary, that's when the passenger got out of the car. Both the bicycles were on the pedestrian crossing under the bridge. We all then headed up Coldharbour Lane once the lights changed green, bikes ahead of car.

'Brixton' I think your English is very good. It seems not often we get to read clear descriptions, which naturally helps a lot.

To my understanding this is the area in question: Coldharbour Lane heading west, meeting Atlantic Road at the traffic lights. Apologies if not.

[side-note: some interesting architecture there, although it looks like it also has its share of deprivation.]

As the picture shows, it's narrow, two-way traffic hence most vehicles turning right at the lights will in turn prohibit vehicles from going straight on or turning left. However there may be an opportunity for two-wheel traffic to as you say 'filter', including into the ASL.

Was the car stationary after the lights? Sorry for so many questions.

Their words were also threats. You don't have to physically touch someone to be found guilty of assault.

Good on you for remaining calm.

You say they weren't a threat. In my opinion their driving suggests they were (including using a vehicle as a weapon).

Perhaps they were pissed that you were cycling in their blind spot, as the light changed? However that would be no justification whatsoever for making verbal threats, and basically driving like a moron.

Do you have a description of the alleged assailants? Thanks.
