Could that possibly have been the reason why I was a little cautious going around extremely tight bends with cars coming in the opposite direction and why I was going under the speed limit (but only by a few mph)?

Stopping distance increases by as much as 10x in ice and snow. You were inches off my arse for a good 10 minutes. I'm not intimidated by gremlins like yourself, so I minded my own business and went a bit slower because if I had to brake for whatever reason, your shitbox would have gone straight into me. Blocked the only exit from two cul-de-sacs for over 10 minutes even though there was a parking space near enough to the property they were messing about in.
