and common sense should tell cylcists not drive down the middle of the lane when there is no need to so that cars can pass.
Also when riding in groups leave enough space between you so that cars do not have to overtake ALL of you in one go.

OK cyclists, please can you answer this.
Why when (some of) you are in groups do you ride in a manner where as Darlid as suggested cars have to overtake the whole group and not just a few of you at a time.
I'm not talking about riding two abreast but leaving a gap to the bike in front not big enough for a car to overtake and pull in before overtaking the next group.

Just because you might want to pass where it is not safe to do so does not mean everyone has to move out your way. The responsibility lies on you to over-take safely; this regardless of whether the cyclist chooses to ride primary or secondary.

1. what has your reference to "middle of the road" got to do with this complaint? Your reference vague, and misleading. I'd recommend you read up the advice given by: all respected cycle craft guides, the AA, RAC, and multiple British police forces regarding positioning. The cyclist is actually entitled to the whole lane.
2. Define your reference to groups; namely, number. It's legal to ride two-aside on most roads (you're still no wider than an average small car). Riding in this manner also reduces the requried over-taking distance.

Highway code rule 163 states 'give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car'

Moronic and dangerous driving from B11 LBY, IMO. They'd fail a test for this and for good reason.

The face that it's called rate-driver and not "post highway code rules" should be a BIG clue.
