Although this needs all the publicity and getting the scumbags nicked I will refrain from voting as potentially the vehicle is using cloned plates.

The assholes tried to pick on someone who stood their ground, and handed them their ass on a plate. No car today, assholes..but make no mistake: you still got the attention you wanted and now your details are all over the Internet. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

West Midlands Police is appealing for information after a man was attacked in an attempted car-jacking on Friday (22 September).

Nearby CCTV footage captures the moment the 43-year-old was set upon by two masked individuals armed with metal poles on Tilesford Close in Shirley.

The men hit him over the head in a desperate attempt to steal keys to his blue BMW M4.

Despite being viciously assaulted, pushed to the floor, and hit over the head the car-owner fought off the crooks, refusing to simply hand over the keys to his prized car.

Officers investigating this incident believe the same suspects attacked another man at Costa Coffee in Friars Gate, Shirley earlier that day in an attempt to steal his Mercedes.

On both occasion the suspects fled in a blue VW Golf with the registration plate BD57 ULH. The vehicle is believed to be using stolen plates.

Investigating Officer Chris Elmore said: “We’re taking these incidents extremely seriously and local neighbourhood officers will continue increased patrols in the area for as long as necessary.

“The community are advised to remain vigilant and report anything they believe to be suspicious."

“We are keen to trace the movements of the Golf and I would ask anyone with information about the vehicle or the attempted robberies in general to contact Crimestoppers."

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please quote crime number 20SH/202632T/17."
