It's fraud isn't it. So the starting point is reporting it to the police and as if is a criminal offence, the police are under a duty to investigate.

If the police cannot assist due to lack of evidence then there are civil remedies. You need to commence civil proceedings but the costs you pay for the proceedings may exceed the value of the car - so is it worth it?

This Vauxhall meriva belonged to me. It was then illegally and fraudulently put in my exs name after I lent it to him. First I knew was a letter from DVLA saying I was no longer the keeper!!!? WTF!! He has now disappeared with my car and all belongings from inside!!! DVLA won't do anything as he forged my signature and law can't get involved as DVLA say he's the reg keeper!!! Stuck in a shitty situation.....I believe he may have sold it on...... Can anyone help please???

Your ex is a stupid prick. Go to the police. They'll be able to find out where it is registered and then go from there.
