What a complete knob you are driver

I suggest you spend a few minutes reading the Highway Code and if you can't be bothered let us all hope that you are then forced to retake your driving test

Clearly you are an unsafe road user

Another imbecile who doesn't want to share the road with cyclists and doesn't care much for the Highway Code. Where'd you get your license from: a Christmas cracker? Dangerous plank.

Alternatively, indicate you're slowing down and come to a complete stop. They are after all, a threat, and in response you feel threatened and don't want to be run over. Politely ask them what THEIR problem is, calmly explain your side, then leave them to it. Forget them. This WILL work in your favour.

This might sound counter intuitive, but I wouldn't stick your finger up. Just try to ignore them or use the "please stay back" gesture.

Now why am I saying this? Well it's certainly not to side with the driver (if you can call them that). No, I'm saying this because you average lunatic and any despondent, evasive and uncooperative police force wouldn't think twice about nullifying your complain on account of your retort.

Does that sound crazy? Well it happens. There's been cases in which the police reportedly cannot be bothered to fulfill their oath, and basically toss aside all accountability and associated paper-work because it would require effort on their part, the kind of effort they can't be bothered with.

The driver's solicitor would also try and use it against you, if it ever came to that, purely as a means of mitigating or absolving their wrong-doing. That's how the system works..these idiots try to illicit a certain form of response full in the knowledge it's the only thing they can try to use against you and because many police forces basically allow them to get away with it. All you have to do however is get a front and rear cam, keep filming, and try to stay safe. The footage will speak for itself.

All this is easier said than done whether you are in a car or on a bike, or motorbike or whatever. You'd love to give them a piece of your mind in more ways than one, but don't be tempted to unless you have no other choice (i.e. they try to assault you). If you feel threatened, try to get off the road and off the bike because believe or not you are then a pedestrian and their affront will be taken much more seriously. Don't give idiots like this the reaction they seek.
