Point taken, maybe demonstrates the frustration that people with sod all lane discipline impose on other people? That said, I'm doing 50, not 80 and you can see from the point where I pass a vehicle in lane 3 that there's roughly a 2 car gap between me and him, I'm hardly riding his bumper. Where I do close the gap briefly it's due to him lifting off and decelerating.
'Danger to other road users'? Again, I was maintaining an adequate distance for the speed and road conditions, when he did decelerate I didn't apply brakes, I merely disapplied my foot from the accelerator myself. I'm hardly aggressively driving up his arse and braking every two seconds.
When I do pull in to lane 2 I'm not undertaking I'm taking position for my exit 1/2 mile up the road, or do you expect me to stay behind him to the 100yd marker and then fly across 3 lanes?
As for not needing to drive at max posted speed, you're entirely correct, though that doesn't mean pick a lane and stay in it and enforce your speed on the rest of the traffic on the road, especially in the outside lane.
I'd joined from the M61 and this muppet was already sat in the outside lane. Got stuck behind him and he's sat in the outside line all the way to J18 Simister Island and beyond after the video ends. Going through 50mph average speed check so I have a limiter active on my car, this guy was speeding up and slowing down continually so I'd catch up, need to overtake so pull out, he refuses to move and brake checks on one occasion, then speeds up so I have to pull back in. All the while there are generally two inside lanes he could use...muppet.
