Just a heads up to say there's appears to be a cycle-hater troll on YT basically saying the cyclist was at fault. It goes by the name of 'sean sean', and is seen on lots of cycle-related video's in which it will spend at eternity trying to argue with all and sundry in an attempt to bring everyone down to its narcissistic level.

FFS Blaming the cyclist after you've clearly raced to overt-take them and cut them up? What planet is this sean entity on?

You just witnessed sean's modus operandi. What he does is, try and focus all his rage on the cyclist, which in turn avoids as much as possible laying blame on the driver, who would CERTAINLY be at fault here.

The driver had a clear view. The cyclist was in front, albeit not paying full attention. But do you seriously think you could use that as mitigation? Try it. Over-taking a cyclist in order to turn left is often used as a transgression for prosecution, and for good reason. Deflecting that blame on a cyclist not being fully aware of their surrounding WON'T wash, sean, and you should know better. At the very least, you should know that when over-taking the responsibility is on the driver, not the cyclist.

Think not? Ask a driving instructor or traffic cop. Go on, sean, I welcome it. See if you have the balls and the brains to respond in kind.

Maybe if you got out more and stopped trying to hate on cyclists so much, you wouldn't attract so much negativity. I'd even so far as to suggest a therapist for you sean..

Quote sean sean:

"the car was ahead of the cyclist. poor riding and judgement by the cyclist
Rule 72
On the left. When approaching a junction on the left, watch out for vehicles turning in front of you, out of or into the side road. Just before you turn, check for undertaking cyclists or motorcyclists. Do not ride on the inside of vehicles signalling or slowing down to turn left."

.."he first person responsible for the cyclist's safety is the cyclist."

^^ Sean Sean them proceeds to try and argue with Road Safe GB, one of the biggest and respected road safety advocates in the UK.

No Sean, you are wrong, and your trolling antics are serving nothing more than getting you a reputation. You cherry-pick your targets and even then fail miserably, because you're so far up your own asshole. Just grow up and move on. I'm not blindly defending the cyclist and I don't need to, in order to see what you are, and how many accounts on social media have banned you for it? It must be quite a few..so, everyone else is all wrong and you're right, including Road Safe. There there, sean. You're the best (in your own head). Now go away why don't you and see if you can convince a driving instructor or traffic officer of the tripe coming out out of it.. can you afford to take/re-take a test?

All to common with badly thought out bike lanes and driver not being aware of the danger he poses. Must get in front no matter who he could put in danger.

Thankfully the driver aborted the left turn.

With the cyclist ahead and in full view of the driver you would have thought, they should have never ended up in that position. Poor judgment initially by the driver.
