That's true James. But when the road is as quiet as it is in this clip, it's a bit of common courtesy to change lanes if safe to allow traffic to join the motorway. Failing that, you certainly shouldn't speed up to intentionally block their otherwise clear path. Inconsiderate driving is also an offence...

Does not give way on motorways! does not know motorway rules. Speeds up and doesn't pull over into an empty lane when motorway is empty. I had to speed up as was he, making it impossible......

@0.17secs (as the lane joins the other carriageway) there are a series of white short dashed markings (after the chevrons)

They are give way to traffic on the right.

Clearly the lady driver needs re-educating but the actions of the van driver are also questionable.

As ",,2017-06-10 18:25:10" stated common courtesy for road users would be to pull out into the right hand (or middle) lane to allow those merging easier - that said there is no rule to cover this and as such I can't vote the regd down because I cannot vote on the dashcam drivers driving

Motorway rules are that you should have given way to him, not the other way round dickface.

"You must give priority to traffic already on the motorway: don’t force your way into the traffic stream."
