I personally regret this not happening in the states, because two things could have happened. Firstly the home owner could have rightfully blown the assailant's heads clean off in self-defense. Instant justice based on a real, credible threat. Don't like it? Don't provide an environment in which you raise feral rats and then turn around and blame innocent people for the problems your litter have created.
