Just goes to prove that all of the fixed ANPR's that have been erected all over the country are useless for road tax, insurance and MOT validation/evasion.
Their real purpose?
To be gradually phased in over the next few years to monitor vehicles whereabouts (snooping) and to charge you pay per mile.
Also these can and are used as average speed cameras in some areas, more of a pilot scheme at present but you can still get fined. Just imagine when this is rolled out country wide, you will be timed from A to B, so should you inadvertently exceed the speed limit on any stretch along your route, you will get your speeding fine along with your mileage bill through the post. All justified by the climate change bollox we are fed.
