I agree. There's clearly more to this than claimed. Why did the HGV driver also insist on 'closing the gap' between their rig and the one in front? Yes, the stopping distance is longer in a HGV, but it looks to me like the HGV was trying to deny the white van any chance of getting on. At these speeds, I would have let the van on and it's all done and dusted..the van will move off quicker than you, and be gone. Everyone's happy. Veering a large vehicle into their path is dangerous to everyone on the road.
