A teenager has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a father-of-three was knocked down by a car and killed in Longsight.

The 17-year-old male from Manchester, who cannot be named, is due to appear alongside a second man, Michael Joyce, 21, from Gorton, at Manchester magistrates’ court on Monday,

The pair were arrested after the death of Shahid Tarafdar, 45, who was struck by a Peugeot 307 on Stockport Road last Tuesday afternoon, February 7. He died in hospital later that day.

You don't understand because you have morals, and decency, and responsibility. The scum that drive like loons on our roads have none of those things. I know it's hard to enforce stricter rules, but for God's sake we are seeing too many of these reports. Those 3 kids now have no dad on account of some bastard who shouldn't have been on th road. Why don't we at least start with making it much more serious an offense if you drive like prick? Use any and every form of evidence available including third-party footage. Make all footage public prior to, and after, any prosecution together with the action taken. They might just think twice when facing the prospect of say, a minimum two years in jail whereas under any other circumstance they'd get a slap on the wrist. These killers need stopping..yet another bastard taking someone's life away it is not fucking right!

Look at the cyclists in London today - having to protest because 5 people have been killed in London this week

There is no justice - the c**t will get a slap on the wrist and maybe 3 years (that's about 1.5 years) in a nice warm hotel with all amenities, food, training all thrown in for free - prison is not a deterrent anymore that's why there's so many re-offending but the PC brigade will tell you prison is not cost effective and it doesn't stop crime. wtf

Although I agree fully with your comment - knowing this country and it's pathetic justice system created by the PC brigade the c**t will probably get 3 years and 5 yrs ban with £250 costs if we are lucky.

I think a better option would be for Manchesters finest (not the police) to find this scum rearrange his face then upload it with a statement/video evidence and then just remove him off this planet and let the police know there's zero point in looking for him.
