You and the other idiot in this clip (i.e the car causing an obstruction and reducing the capacity of the carriageway) need to read the highway code. Clearly there was 400 yards of road that is usable and a simple zip merge at the point where the lane ends. Take a read of this article;

I fail to understand why an advanced notification of a lane closure seems to mean an immediate lane closure by some people. I hope this video has educated you and others to use all available lanes.
Also you committed an offence of using your horn in retaliation and arguably stationary, rule 112 (Construction and Use Regs 99);
