Please consider retaking your driving test. Yes it is courteous to allow the bus to pull out but it is not the law. Your learner does not need to give way - which you didn't correct.
If the bus had been indicating for several minutes and had not been let out I could understand the "need" to be more considerate and understanding and slow to allow the bus to pull out.
But the bus had not been waiting and it is the bus that needs to give way
If you are going to teach others to drive then please teach them correctly.
Yes the vehicle that beeped didn't need to - just another impatient MGIF I own the road driver who also needs re-educating but there was no need for your learner to give way as described.
