I agree with this statement. Regardless of what the Mini driver was doing, one must maintain a suitable distance between themself and other road users as well as a suitable position. This doesn't protect you against close passes or collisions, but it can help lower the risk. This is of particular importance when passing junctions, with cars letting oncoming traffic into the junction. They literally appear from nowhere and you have next to no time to react. I've learned this the hard way, unfortunately.

@ 02:36:11 I think the problem here is that this site is often infiltrated by a certain well-known troll who basically seeks to target and discriminate against all cyclists wherever and whenever possible. It's got to the point where I don't visit much because I've been put off by the level of abuse. It may be the case that the person you refer to isn't part of that charade.

Mate, please stay further back from the cyclist in front. Your thinking distance is greatly reduced and so is your visibility. You might be doing it to draft off the rider in front, but it's incredibly dangerous.

Looks like a deliberate attempt to teach the cyclist a lesson for riding like a knob. Neither is a good example.

He'll spend hours scrutinizing every second of the riders actions in a video and pick up on any "defects" whilst totally ignoring the actions of vehicles.

Cam cyclist is tailgating lead cyclist and straddling the white line between the cycle lane and the vehicular lane. I would say that is inviting near death experiences without the help of mini drivers.
