Hit and run. Albeit low speed, low impact and no obvious injuries.

Sean, this is one of the main reasons I am going to quit cycling in this country. Too many people assuming you'll yield to their customised version of the Highway Code specifically designed for their benefit. For instance, assuming cyclists should "stay in the gutter at all times and let cars pass". When facts are presented it often goes to plan b: cyclists don't pay road tax and run red lights. I am sick of having to defend myself against idiots like this, who put people's lives at risk. They act like they think one bad cyclist represents every cyclist and every cyclist is just as bad, that every cyclist must do as they say or face the consequences. Elsewhere in Europe it is a mix-bag, but I would say mostly better especially in places where the infrastructure and the attitude is better. The bad attitude isn't just against cyclists either, but all road users. Even with tougher laws our hands are tied because there's just too many idiots on our roads..

Definitely looks deliberate and would explain why the driver didn't stop

I think the car driver expected the bike to ride in the layby and punished him for not doing so. She should at the very least be done for failing to stop at the scene of an accident, if not dangerous driving.

Looked deliberate. You were already in secondary position (not that you had to be, mind), and they were in front of the other car - all they had to do was over-take safely. And thanks for the person who handed you the part..why can't everyone be like that.

From what I can asertain this is the A23 Brighton Road, nr Coulsdon CR5 3ES

Woman should be charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop and subsequently banned from driving until she passes an advanced driving test

I say "should" be but we all know our police, cps and judicial system will mean nothing will happen until she kills or injures someone - I hope and wish they can't sleep at night.
