I had something similar a few years ago, a delivery van hit the side of my car and drove off. A couple of work men saw it and gave me the details. I went to the nearest police station and reported it, they gave me the the vehicles details, owners address, etc. Expect to be asked to produce your vehicle documents and license though when you make the report.

The driver of this vehicle Toyota Auris, reversed into my car on Tesco Baguley Manchester car park, It was witnessed by numerous people, she appeared to show concern until everybody went away then she proceeded to drive off. luckily someone stuck around waiting for us to get back.
