Actually, it wasn't BBC :). It was Amazon since the stupid Grand Tour is on Amazon Prime.
Ironically though, the new Top Gear did get an Allegro estate (similar model 1.5 HL but it was finished in cream) and used it for violent off-roading in a special episode. At least though, the Allegro estate was praised for its dependability and reliability (something you didn't expect from a British Leyland vehicle).
