The driver of this van cut me up badly this morning,I beeped at him and the driver, a little bald man got out and verbally abused me,I was very upset as he was really nasty so I didn't manage to get a pic, just wanted to get away.I checked up on GOV website and he has no MOT, it expired 18 August 2016.I reported him to the police but they said its nothing to do with them, report him to DVLA.I see this van regularly on my way to work so he uses it a lot,I always thought if you had no MOT it cancels your insurance out,

Hopefully you have the police officers details and you may want to take this further and/or upload the officers details so that others (like me) can challenge their pathetic attempt to skive

Sophie.Contrary to what you've been told, this is a police matter according the government:

https://www.gov.uk/report-no-mot

'Report a vehicle with no MOT'

Call the *police’s* non-emergency number to report a car, van, motorcycle or other vehicle that doesn't have an MOT.

'What Happens Next'

The *police will investigate your report* and the driver may get a fine. The maximum fine is £1,000.

If you see this car in use on the road then please not the details and get it on film. Then phone 101 telling them your local station is refusing to even aknowledge receipt of your complaint. See what happens.

Get it on camera and if or when the bald-headed entity does it again, put it on social media and say the police "apparently" don't consider this an offense, of any kind. You watch how quick they move on it. Send the station a link to the video. Just make it private to begin with, until you know the outcome. Sad but that's how it's become in this country..the police only care about image.

What did the police say in response to alleged verbal assault? That's their territory, for sure.

'The bottom line is that if your MOT is out of date and you’re involved in a crash, in nearly all cases your insurer will declare your cover to be invalid, no matter how much you’ve paid for it.'
