In my opinion she's banged to rights. Reading a book at the wheel whilst in motion.

Furthermore I fail to see how the cyclist was in any way "picking on her", or her child; if anything I feel the cyclist pro-actively saved lives. She was seen reading whilst driving - what if it was one of her own children she mowed down because her concentration wasn't fully on the road? What if she's gone over cyclist in this video?

"What have I done to really upset you so much?" Potential victim blaming by the looks of things..

I agree with Emma. They do not help the situation.

Hi Patrick,

The term "banged to rights" is a mostly British idiom that basically means caught red-handed or to put it another way, caught in the act with no means of getting out of it.

Hope this helps :)

Video was published on 9 Feb 2015.

Quote the uploader: "UPDATE 2015-02-11: The Officer shown in the footage attempted to call yesterday, and managed to get through to me today.

He has spoken with the driver, and reiterated my concerns as a person that rides a bicycle. In this case a Section 59 PRA2002 warning will not be issued.

As discussed in the footage briefly the Officer was in the process of dealing with another crime report, and I fully understand why that needed to take precedence over my encounter here with the lady driver of NJ64 XTA."

Fact: He came to a stop, in the road. How you interpret that is upto you. Fact: What this woman was doing, was incredibly dangerous and irrespective of your particular views against the cyclist. She was supposed to be in charge of a VEHICLE, in which there was a CHILD. Instead of being pre-occupied with trying to demean the cyclist why don't you focus on the facts presented in this video incident.

Well, the video begins with "some reasons I care about road safety" as if he is alone. He then presents a series of clips featuring him taking exaggerated falls and dives, paradoxically to the detriment of his own safety. Fact. No denying the bad driving involved but this guy deserves an Oscar. It doeesn't set him up well for the main video where he dramatically lays his bik on the road as if recreating one of his previous (and regular) mishaps.

Are YOU have a bad case of the Wednesday's, Nelson? Come on don't be shy..all you have to do is come out the closet and refer to facts presented..or is that too hard for your ego to take?

Clearly Nelson you are clutching at straws here. Rather than focus on what happened in this video, you've instead chosen to try and instigate some off-topic rant about the "average bod". Your argument is flawed before you even start - perhaps that's why you're so eager to try and avoid focusing on the facts presented..

Woo, someone is having a bad case of Wednesdays.
Cyclist seems to get knocked off his bike more than the average bod. Clearly he is doing something wrong!

Why bother getting police involved when you clearly think you are the police? Prick.

Prefacing your video of examples of why you take safety so seriously undermines your case. Yes, we *all* experience bad drivers on a daily basis (drivers and cyclists alike) - you are not the only one.
But clearly you are a typical militant lycra lout. In response to the bad driving example you exaggerate and provoke things, putting yourself into further danger in an attempt to prove a point.
In the lead up to the book incident we can see your head bobbing, peering into every car on the lookout for bad people doing bad things. Perhaps you should focus more on the road. Throwing your bike on the road, mimicking a traffic accident, yet again demonstrates your over-reacted militant tendencies.
Yes, they are all cases of bad driving but your reaction is absurd.
