you actually swerve over towards the car take a close look as your right hand leaves the handle bar this causes you to swerve into the path of the car and not the driver swerving into you

No. The car was approaching them and caused them to become somewhat unbalanced. Get your facts right - and give cyclists room like you're supposed to. The driver clearly didn't give them adequate passing distance and it would have made no difference whatsoever had the cyclist been dead straight. All the risk can be minimised by learning how to over-take vulnerable road users..look it up.
