As many concur cycling was originally meant to be a relaxed affair, now we have these middle aged men clad in lycra speeding against day to day normal car users. Causing angst with their mid life crisis 'Wiggins' wannabes with small brains and helmet cameras.
Kind Regards,
GHI

Many concur driving used to be a leisurely affair, now we have these jumped up middle aged knobs in their BMWs and Audis causing angst with their tailgating, harassment and "must get in front" attitudes.
Kind regards HGF

What a STUPID comment. You do realise there is actually no speed limit for the cyclist? You also realise the cyclist was IN TRAFFIC FLOW? Get your facts right.

Im sorry but the cyclists is almost in the middle of the lane and when the honda driver overtakes there is a clearly marked cycle lane which the cyclist is not using.

If i was driving i would of done the same thing!

Are you blind, Dan? Or just stupid/arrogant? You shouldn't be over-taking there - RE-TAKE YOUR TEST (ASSUMING YOU HAVE VALID LICENSE) !!! By the way, you do this kind of thing on a test and you'll most likely fail (and for good reason). What are the cycle-hating pricks gonna do then: blame the driving instructor.. say he/she is also a cyclist? Getting pretty thin on the ground in terms of excuses for your ignorance but there again what do you expect from stupid, self-entitled people who don't want to share the road with others? The rest of us simply grow up and belt up - in plain English: the rest of us are mature enough to drive properly..

That is no justification for dangerous driving. The responsibility is on the driver to over-take safely; not on the cyclist to avoid getting clobbered just because the driver can't wait. Middle of the lane and not in a cycle lane are both as mentioned perfectly legal. I'm surprised just how many drivers do not know this and/or just don't give a shit. Hmm.

@Dan
Firstly - learn to drive
Secondly - learn the Highway Code
Thirdly - learn to observe all road conditions, traffic, risk and of course road signs markings.

You state something about cycle lane
1 - A cyclist does not have to use the cycle lane provided
2 - The cycle lane appears after the set of traffic lights and after the horn is blasted but only for a few mtrs then disappears
3 - A cyclist has to adopt "primary" to ensure their safety and this cyclist adopted primary when they saw in advance the build of of traffic at the traffic lights whereby any vehicle would be unsafe to overtake (Under the Highway Code a vehicle must treat a cycle as if it was the width of a car)

Now that you've been educated and bitch slapped - go forth and multiply

Cyclist was in primary position as advised by government safe cycle training taught to kids. This is to prevent unsafe passes when the lane is too narrow.

Ad hominem attack.. For your information you're talking garbage.. the cyclists was cycling with traffic flow.. the driver didn't want to wait until it was SAFE and PRACTICAL to over-take. Instead of focussing on the driver's error instead you clearly prefer to launch an idiotic, factually-flawed assault against the intended victim. You Sir, are an idiot.

Remember 911? Remember the police, fire and ambulance crews swearing when those towers collapsed? By THIS police force's OWN measure, 911 never happened. Did it NEVER occur to said, that when people feel threatened and victimised they are prone to cursing? Why don't you, seeing as your purport to SERVE and PROTECT, concentrate on what the driver DID FIRST?! Or is that too much paper-work.. is that making the crime figures look too bad? Fucking useless..

Yet another dangerous, foul-mouthed, ignorant slob in a car. There clearly isn't enough space to over-take safely, at any time; this includes the two pedestrian island and a lights. So what does the driver do? Gets too close, tail-gates, almost hitting the lead cyclist. And this.. in front of child passenger? Looks that way.. in fact it looks to me as if the child might even be used to seeing this kind of behaviour coming from a supposed adult. Hmm I wonder what the story is there..

Don't mean to go on, but did you just SEE where that fool was beeping? I reckon it's around the 00:27 mark. What a grade-A idiot.. WHERE do you think you're going to go? Do you THINK it's safe to be using your car as a weapon? Do you even THINK? Re-take your driving test: see how long it is before you repeat what you did here and fail miserably.. you going to lose your cool with the driving instructor too? People like you are the reason so many of us are put off cycling in this country. You're a danger to yourself and others and you have scant regard for the welfare of vulnerable road users. Prat.

Rev Drew Bowler, the only thing making passing difficult is your own narrow-mindedness. Funny how most people can actually pass; it's just the selfish, dangerous minority that tries to spoil it for everyone else. If it is not safe or practical to pass - do NOT pass. It's not rocket science. Neither is passing compulsory, or have you been on the funny juice today and thought you'd come here to mouth off like some argumentative troll ?!

Rev Drew Bowler, you should use your eyes and read up on the Highway Code. Whether car, bike or motorbike, if it's not safe or practical to over-take then don't.. is that so hard to comprehend (hint: most drivers can). Funny how you're yet another shallow, narrow-minded person it seems, that seems hell-bent on launching some kind of misguided moral crusade against the cyclists, whereas most decent people of sound mind can easily see that the car driver shouldn't have acted that way. If you cannot see the fallacy of your own argument or the driver's error then seriously.. please re-take your test, should you somehow hold a license. Good luck and hopefully drive safely. Have a nice day.

The car horn should only be used to make others aware of your presence or a danger,
Problem is because vehicle horns are now used as a means of shouting and generally aggressively admonishing others in the misguided belief that the target has, ( in their opinion), done something wrong so need a good old car horn bollocking. This behavior has to stop.
Now the cyclist in the post was perfectly legally positioned and whats this crap about going too fast?, just because the motorist had to slow and should have been aware of the cyclists presence way before approaching him, then hopefully did a mirror, signal then maneuver (MSM) past the cyclist (remember how you could once be bothered to do that? along with indicating on roundabouts, or M.S.M before turning off not slam on the brakes then turn ) This does not mean the driver can abuse other road users, look at your own lack of driving skills, impatience. Cyclists have as much right on the road as any other vehicle, get used to it and grow a pair.
