I would advise moving further out. Try to maintain primary position through the pedestrian island. Note the white car around 46 seconds: ride primary to hopefully deter such idiots from taking chances.
As regards the person who pulled out at the junction. Were they blind? Again, I would ride further out past junctions because it gives you more space in which to create and escape route and it also improves your visibility to other road users.
As I said, in my opinion none of this is your fault and you are fully entitled to use the road with the same rights as other roads users. So please don't think I am trying to blame you for what happened here.
