Tailgating southbound from end of filter lane near the new M&S on A61 Harrogate towards end of 30mph zone. As soon as I entered the 50mph zone at Almsford Bank (which is on a downhill, S-bend known for accidents, and is demarcated by two sets of double whites surrounding diagonals), he overtook at speed. He got my little 206's horn throughout his maneouvre.
There's a reason for those lines, and people in cars just as fast as his - Mercedes-Benz C Class AMG 6.2L, 2008 registration - have died there over the past few years. Why risk somebody's life just because you want to get two seconds further down the road?

He must have transferred those plates to a black BMW 3/4 coupe. Today he overtook 7 cars + today in a 40 zone, doing at least 70mph, straight into a stretch where visibility ahead disappears. Reported to NYC, one other witness did the same.
