I wouldn't exactly say "I didn't see you" is admitting the error.
If he'd said "I misjudged your distance/speed", then I'd have no problem with it. Very easy mistake to make. But saying you didn't see an approaching vehicle on a long straight road on a clear day is inexcusable.

Turned right across my path into a parking space. Signalled some kind of apology so since I was stopped anyway I decided to have a chat.
Then came the classic line - "I didn't see you".
It was a long straight road on a clear day and I was 50 yards away when he started the turn. But he didn't see me.
This driver clearly has sight issues and therefore is a danger to cyclists and other road users.
Turned right across my path into a parking space. Signalled some kind of apology so since I was stopped anyway I decided to have a chat.

The driver admitted their error and apologised? Seems commendable these days, considering the disregard some people have for other road users. Don't worry about it mate, life's too short (unless someone intentionally tries to run you over, in which case it's entirely different). I ride a bike myself and I also make mistakes.. you got to let it go mate as like with driving a car, if you let it get to you it just eats you up and that's good for nobody. Sometimes people make really stupid mistakes and it's better to be prepared to to let it linger? :) All the best mate.
