The abuse is uncalled for.
Once again though what happened was the consequence of the cyclists actions beforehand.
This particular cyclist goes out looking for trouble, every video includes avoidable incidents which he aggrevates.

Notice the lack of response Adam? The anti-Rab / Paul / anon , 'cyclist are never wrong' brigade will be along shortly. Another incident instigated by a camera-shod cyclist. Driver is very wrong with is actions but why go out looking for trouble just to film it.

I also note your comment regarding non-existent "road" tax.. no retort, given the facts have been presented? I wonder why.

18:42:19, I take it you're making threats to knock cyclists off their bikes if they don't ride in cycle lanes? By the way, cycle lane use isn't mandatory, regardless of your personal views or your stupid interpretation of the Highway Code. And as stated, Road Tax does NOT exist. Your post is the thinking of a violent moron - show us your reg so we can report you to the police, or on here. I bet you won't.

Yes he's an aggressive racist but just use the cycle lane then signal to turn right nearer the junction. I'm also a cyclist and a motorist but you have to use your brain and stay alive.

Pity the police don't take discriminatory hate against cyclists as serious as they do race relations. In other countries the police have been known to take complaints more seriously - and follow them up, but it seems in this country their hands are tied on account of the sheer scale of abuse drivers like this are causing.

The cyclist is entitled to be in the lane same as the car. Whether to ride in the cycle lane is their choice. The cyclist could have been turning right anywhere within that stretch and the driver shouldn't have tried to bully them out the way. The driver's attitude here is deplorable..clearly has no desire to share the road and just wants to argue/fight; gets ratty and racist on account of their personal issues. No wonder he was convicted (good). Also good that the cyclist's position deterred a stupid over-take (as recommended). Don't like cyclists using the road old mucka then hang your keys up let someone else drive.. hopefully you've learned to behave and not be racist and spiteful.

Wow, talk about acting like a senile bastard. "Middle of the road" .. it's LANE, you imbecile; something the cyclists was FULLY ENTITLED to. How the fuck did you pass a test? As pointed out, you dumb arrogant fuck, cycle lane use isn't mandatory. Learn to share or fuck off our roads.. society will be safer for it. Your pass was shit. Your comprehension of the Highway Code is shit. And your attitude is also shit. I fully support the alleged action taken against you as a result of your behaviour (ref: racial abuse). I'd do more, however. I'd ban you from driving until you can show you can be trusted with anything other than a kid's rattle (which you threw out the pram here). Twit.

Seems this is actually a travesty of justice. He does all that and the only thing the courts are interested in prosecuting him for is his racist outburst? What's tell you about law and order in this country? Why not Section 59 him? Why not pursue a case for careless, reckless and dangerous driving? You can clearly see his pass it too close; that he stops without warning, forcing the carriage behind to brake sharply. Also note the following. I've seen no end of video's where police forces warn cyclists after they have acted under duress and swore - well this driver wasn't acting under duress...he did swear..and you don't do jack crap to him, it seems. Yes.. that's called a double standard and yes, that sends out the wrong message to your average imbecile of a driver who thinks they can risk injury or death to other road users through their own arrogance.

'Cyclists have a right to claim the lane'

'It may come as a surprise to most drivers but cyclists have as much right as drivers to take up the entire lane. You will often see cyclists riding side-by-side, and you, as a driver, may think they’re being selfish by doing so. But the fact is the cyclist is actually reducing the risk of having an accident; it’s the safest way for them to cycle, particularly if there’s a blind bend, a narrowing of the road, a high risk junction, pinch point or traffic lights ahead.
Cyclists should never cycle in the gutter as it gives no room for avoiding obstacles and leaves no room to fall if an accident occurs, increasing the risk of falling into the road and potentially under the wheels of a vehicle.'

p.s. You may or may not also be aware that cyclist's don't have indicators, brake lights, or mirrors. Neither do they have eyes in the back of their head. The cyclist's position was early, yes; but that still doesn't mean they were doing anything wrong. They were travelling at considerable speed in a built-up area, with traffic flow. If the driver couldn't over-take safely then that's their problem and their responsibility to rectify.. what if it were a motorcyclist? Another car? The cyclist has the same rights and in addition to those rules needs extra care. It's not rocket science if you just think about it logically. And no, the cyclist doesn't JUST have this driver to think about.. asserting one's space gives yourself and other people crucial thinking time, and crucial space in the event you need to veer in the event of an emergency. The cyclist's position and speed were consistent..if all that's wrong then how come the police and the courts found no fault? Because the cyclist's actions were legal. If the irate entity in that car doesn't want to share the road and respect human life and just wants to act like a miserable old duffer then he shouldn't be allowed to drive a car as he's a danger to himself and others. His mouth certainly got him into enough trouble already..

If that's the case then why don't drivers do the same? Oh wait: it's because they need to get in position in order to make their position known to others.. but hey..cyclists can just stick to the left and HOPE the traffic is stationary, then at the last moment HOPE they can make it to the right of a box they HOPE won't be occupied. The box isn't just for turning right; it's to deter drivers from entering it and to give cyclists a lead start. This in addition to the need for cyclists to remain visible..hey presto.. the need to get in lane well in advance of reaching that cycle box. The only exception is filtering in slow-moving traffic. The driver here chose to perform a poor over-take and then tried to blame it on the cyclist. And it's funny how you completely fail to list all the rules you think the driver might have violated, instead going straight for the cyclist. Hmm I wonder if you're...

To anon. Not accusing, I'm stating that the cyclist making the video has a lot of incidents and puts themselves in positions which clearly causes aggravation on the roads. Geoge has said it above, this could have been avoided while remaining safe and using the amount of road you needed. Great big cycle box at the junction for you to more over to the right in with stationary traffic and a good signal on the approach if it was moving traffic.

Highway code rule 144
You MUST NOT
drive dangerously
drive without due care and attention
drive without reasonable consideration for other road users.
