I'm not trying to make excuses. I'm trying to cite one or more potentially contributing factors for the reason the driver didn't see the rider. If you weren't so eager to jump to conclusions you'd see I never once said the driver was fault-free.

Stop making excuses for the bad driving shown in this video. Sun glare isn't rare but it's never resulted in me, or anyone I know, having an accident. If the car had slowed down and turned across the path of oncoming traffic slowly, the driver would have seen the road wasn't clear. If you can't see, then you edge out slowly. Whichever way you look at it, the car driver was at fault for not being cautious. Hopefully this has been a lesson for the driver and he'll think next time.

Doesn't look like they were laughing? The driver was definitely laughing/smiling but it's probably down to embarrassment/nervousness more than anything. Most people admit their error by saying sorry but each to their own. Still seems strange to give the car a green thumb up top though - whatever you think of this video, the car was 100% in the wrong.
