This guy doesn’t understand how right of way works!
After a 5 minute stand-off, he drives over the curb.
The closest gap was behind him, but that makes no difference as he was on my side of the road.

Nobody has right of way; least not in this context. There is only priority. One driver has to give way to the other driver, which is often confused as right of way whereas it just means one driver has priority over the other. Neither has right of way mate.
