Dog left in the car at Ashford Orbital Mcdonalds during a very hot day (May 2018). Police were notified, and the window was about to be smashed when the owner returned with no remorse and no understanding of any wrong-doing.

The fact that the dog was sat by the window with its head up meant it was fine. If it was too hot it would be in the shade, and laid out as though it was sleeping. It wont have been locked in the car long, and if you had broken the window without the car owners permission when the dog was in a normal state you would be liable for damaging someones property.

The instant someone locks a dog in a car it does not become a crime, nor does it mean you have to phone the police and think about smashing windows!
