Absolutely mad blind blonde bint. Pulls out of car parking space without looking in the opposite direction to the bloody great arrow on the roadway. Then is rude and gives us the V sign! Should be made to go to Specsavers!!!
The day before Christmas Eve 2013, this van nearly killed me. Driver pulled out of a gateway without looking forcing me to bail onto the verge. Didn't stop.
I was on my daily cycle commute into central London. I and around 10 other were stationary at the Cheyne Walk junction Beaufort Street (ie the Battersea Bridge lights). Behind us were 2 lanes of stationary traffic, with a large yellow tipper truck, LX07AWA in the left lane. We were all waiting for the lights to change. Most of the cyclists were in front of the tipper. The lights went green and the cyclists headed off first. As is usual, the cyclists headed towards the kerb and quickly formed a loose line fairly close to it. I was in front. Suddenly I was aware of the tipper truck passing at speed within elbow-touch of my right side and still heading closer to the kerb, further closing the “gap”. I came to a sudden halt and prepared to jump on to the pavement. It was, in my opinion, life-threateningly dangerous.
Afterwards, one or two of the cyclists who were behind came up to me and said it seemed clear to them, from behind, that the tipper truck swerved left suddenly and apparently deliberately towards we cyclists as a so-called “punishment pass”. The reg plate of the truck was LX07AWA. It occurred at 0758 on 21/03/16.
Quoting “bikeradar.com”, two of the other cyclists who witnessed it wrote:
“… did see some utter tool in a totally unmarked tipper truck do a 'punishment pass' at the Battersea Bridge junction. Definitely swerved on purpose and nearly hit about 10 people including Rower63 [that’s me] (I think) and a couple of others who had to stop altogether. No reason for it and could have easily killed people, idiocy.”
