You give way to the right on roundabouts, yes, but if you look further than the end of the bonnet & see absolutely nothing coming from your right then you don't need to be slamming the brakes on as you get to the roundabout, stopping for absolutely sod all.
Stop following cars so closely, especially with a baby in the backseat. You should be ashamed of yourself as a parent. I hope that child grows up to see what an inconsiderate, irresponsible parent you are and never speaks to you again.
