Picture the situation at a traffic lights junction where you turn left and someone coming from the opposite way wants to turn right (your left).
The left turn for you is close (a fraction of the width of one lane) but the right turn for the other motorist is about five times as far (almost two lanes wide), so for this one to get in front if there is no filter on the lights he would have to accelerate aggressively and barge across in front of what is your right of way.
That is what this impatient fuckhead did, even though there was no vehicle behind me. He only gained about two seconds and in doing so could have caused an accident.

Why do some taxi/cab drivers break the law so much and treat other roads users like dirt?
This was a minibus hire cab (Lancaster City licence number 530) speeding up then tailgating me through Galgate. I kept to the 30 limit until it became 50 and PJ14VMA tried to overtake me beforehand but oncoming traffic prevented him.
He then tailgated me more and I could see an aggressive look on his rough face.
I wouldn’t want to book a cab with him as the driver.
