Guy driving a highway maintenance van on his mobile phone doing dangerous overtakes approaching oncoming traffic near roundabouts, forcing oncoming traffic to stop. Constantly pulled out in front of cars on the following dual carriageway no indicating and less than a call length in front of them. This was the most dangerous and reckless driving I have witnessed this year. 30th October, 4.35-4.45pm, between Bicester and Brackley
White Ford Transit van (oddly enough).
Shouldn't be allowed on the road. I was overtaking this muppet after he'd squeezed into the gap between me and a fuel tanker. It was a long straight uphill road - and the tanker was slowing down, so I pulled out and started overtaking. I was alongside the van and he just pulled out into me - hit my rear quarter between rear door and wheel arch (really just streaks of white paint, no real metal damage). It doesn't take a rocket scientist to calculate that I had right of way by now - haf my car must have been ahead of him! I stopped further on when it wassafe and he drove straight past me! A three mile chase ensued at the end of which I managed to overtake him and get him to stop. His defence? "I was first in the queue to overtake the truck because I was right behind him, so you should not have overtaken me"!!! Which bit of the Highway Code he extracted that particular nugget from, I don't know; nor did the police when I spoke to them later! I told him he was an idiot. None of this was helped by the loud, foul-mouthed tart hanging out of the passenger side effing and blinding at me. Sadly, he drove off before I could get any photos, but my insurance company are chasing him down.
