The motorway may have been busy so the truck driver may not have been able to move over to the let the van merge in this case. However I was going down a slip road to join a very deserted motorway last December and a truck was coming up alongside me and would not move over to let me merge. There was no traffic at all in the other two lanes. At the end of the day truck drivers don't do themselves any favours.
Ever driven a truck? They have no legal obligation to give way and it's certainly safer for them to not do so.Either gain speed enough to be in front of him when you get to the end of the slip road or reduce speed enough to come out behind him and overtake.
Totally your fault - you deliberately drove into him. He was a muppet for cutting infring if you (but you could have moved over at the junction and didn't, hence why he cut you up). No sympathy !!
You are a proper moron. It's called merging because you merge with the traffic, you don't force your way on. Also, what load was he carrying? Fuel, explosives, heavy load? If he braked sharp the chances of his load becoming unsafe or whiping out the cab....you aren't a HGV driver are you? You are a muppet
"deliberately drove into him?" HGVs are, erm, heavy, With long stopping distances. Not designed to stop quickly when some white van nob brake checks you.
1. Clearly the reason it took so long for the white van to catch up and overtake was because the road was so busy, which is why the lorry didn't pull out, so white van man already knew at this point he was being a bell-end.
2. Traffic entering the highway have to give way to traffic on the highway, so white van man was being a bell-end.
3. The white van swerved in front of an overtaking vehicle, which is an illegal traffic manouver, so white van man was being a bell-end.
4. The white van failed to stop after a collision which is a. illegal and b. a tacit admission of guilt. i.e. even the white van man knew he was a bell-end and would only end up in court.
The van driver is a twat and was trying to cause an accident. He was obviously pissed because he had to wait for the truck to pass the slip road. See this type of driving every day on every slip road joining the motorway, drivers all trying to out accelerate the vehicles on the inside lane and then trying to block each other from overtaking. Typical driving attitude in the UK.
What a complete and utter idiot, First of all thanks to whom ever uploaded the Registration details of this van at the top of the page and we can now see why the white van never stopped, Everything was done by the book by the HGV driver so a round of applause for you sir, Now as to the van driver i really hope that police catch up with you and very soon as the next victim may not be as lucky as the HGV, Hopefully someone will see this on this site or on youtube and know who this driver is and report them and get them off the roads ASAP, You also have to ask what if this was a smaller vehicle the reults dare not be thought about, I really have nothing more to say other than if you know the owner of this van or the driver PLEASE! report them and at least get one more idiot off our roads
Do these trucks have cruise? The speed (around 50 mph) is consistent throughout. There is no rapid deceleration that would naturally occur under heavy braking. I'm not agreeing with what the idiot in the white van did..I'm not condoning their actions. I'm just asking an open question because I know very little about trucks. Thanks.
Brake-checking should be rewarded with a long ban, a fine and, if it causes injury, JAIL! Get these turds off the roads...
