Camera is wide angle so it will make things seem further away than they really are, hence the 'shit reaction times' aren't that shit. Either way the van driver is another piece of third world Birmingham scum that needs dumping at the bottom of the ocean with the rest of them.

We can't do that if the EU has it's way.. and it will get even worse with the countries just positively falling over themselves to get at our benefits and everything else they don't contribute to but somehow think they have every right to take. We create any law such as that which you propose - one that puts out people first - and the EU will instantly pounce on it and repeal it. We don't control our own borders and we don't control our own roads, streets. The bloody lot. This rate at which this country started to to turn into a third-world shit-hole intensified the moment the flood-gates opened - coincidence? Many think not. People can come here and drive how they like; all they have to do is lie. The can come here and have multiple children all in the name of Islam and then blame everyone else when there's isn't enough space, money and resources to support them and their damn lifestyle choices. The EU has fucked us over this. We don't have a say in how our country is run and we end up dead before the police are willing to follow up on the scumbags who come into this country only to run people over. Meanwhile, our OWN people are treated like shit in jobs, treated like shit in job centres and denied the opportunity to seek a better life because hey.. someone has to pay for all the shit the EU is shovelling our way. Vote to stop the gravy train and to start putting our wishes first..if that also includes booting out the corrupt government then so be it. There is no other way, we cannot negotiate around it and if we choose to stay in the EU then you can bet incidents like this will increase ten-fold. We have every right to protect our land and we ARE being invaded.

I believe that everyone who wishes to drive a vehicle on our roads should be assessed by psychological profiling first in order to check if they have the mental capacity to operate a vehicle and secondly to check for underlying behavioral problems. Illegal drug users and drink drivers instant life ban., same for dangerous driving. This would include all who use our roads regardless of country of origin and race and fuck The EU PC brigade just a bunch of self serving money wasting bureaucrats.

The standards do seem lower and I agree if you live in an area where people have moved from very very different driving conditions (and much higher road fatality rates etc) across the globe, it begins to make a big difference in what to expect when driving now in UK. In many countries cars jostle for space quite aggressive!y etc and sometimes to experience that first hand here in UK to me demonstrates the need to assess drivers' road worthiness to a British standard before they are allowed on the roads and regardless of paperwork.
And no, we are not xenophobic, just frustrated at the government for not addressing the obvious need to amend driving restrictions inline with such mass immigration, which asvwith any large scale change, seems to be making a huge difference to the standards of British driving in some areas.

Unfortunately there's no shortage of drivers like this in Birmingham, and the surrounding areas. But what do you expect when so many people can literally Photoshop their driving paperwork, including overseas? In many countries it's as easy as buying petrol. And yes, it is relevant because a significant proportion of the population comes from overseas, and also has foreign-born children. Ever driven through Smethwick.. Handsworth.. Northwood? Shit driver galore. But hey there's no doubting we are multi-cultural: we have EVERY shade of crap risking lives on our roads..

Yeah that area is pretty bad with third-world driving standards. When I was cycling in Smethwick some prick and his mates deliberately pulled out of a temple and refused to wait even though I had right of way. They went over the junction and tried to hit me, then tried to get out their car and assault me even though I had done absolutely nothing wrong. Truth be told, if I'd had a gun I'd have shot the bastards in self-defence.. it's the only way they learn, the only language they understand. They are savages and all the government does is give them a sense of entitlement they do not have. And why do so many councils allow them to park where they want..scared of offending their religious insecurities? Fuck that? I know lots of people of many colours and creeds and they're just sick of these types. Deport them and secure our borders.

Van driver clearly in the wrong but it did seem like the car driver was putting himself, his girlfriend and other road users in danger by chasing after the van. I understand the need to get his registration number but there was every chance that it could have made things so much worse with some of the risks taken to keep after him. Shock, anger, red mist, we've all been there and I probably would have had the same reaction, but still.

I'm saying the safety of myself and my passengers comes first. It's on camera. Let the police and the insurance deal with it. Some people in that region are just bonkers.. you don't want to take the risk.

Right ok. So you let the van get away after a hit and run? I'd say chasing him was right

@Lord Maude

What a lame excuse but hey let's don't concern ourselves with
1 - Failing to stop after an accident
2 - Faulty lights
3 - Failing to indicate

Driver should be banned until they've retaken their driving test but most likely he'll get ero police intervention because there was no injuries to driver or passenger.

Bit of advice - if something like this happens to you and you have a passenger - get them to smack their head n the dashboard, sufficiently to cause injury. This will get police attendance - and the excuse of how the passenger got injured - they was getting something out of the glove box or from under the seat at the wrong time.

If the police are too fucking lazy or unconcerned then lets make them concerned - they wouldn't think twice about pulling you over for speeding or DUI

The driver wouldn't have needed to react had the van driver followed the rules of the road. The accident was fully the fault of the van driver, right of way is paramount and he didn't have it.
