At 8am I was proceeding in a northerly direction along the road. The weather conditions were clear and the traffic was light. As a passed an area of greenery to my left a little man in a green outfit with a pointy hat and ears jumped into the road, causing me to brake sharply and turn left to avoid a collision. A witness who was a passenger in my vehicle said that the person resembled an 'elf'. In order to preserve our memories we immediately compiled a note of the incident and upon completing this we then telephoned for assistance. Dolly Marples, a resident opposite the scene of the accident, tended to our requirement for tea and biscuits pending the arrival of specialist assistance. There were no injuries and the cuplrit has yet to be found.
