Parked on pavement blocking the passage of someone on a mobility scooter - reported to taxi licensing office
Sick of you lazy scumbags parking on the pavement obstructing the general public from their right of way.
I didn't have my camera on when I saw another taxi driver stopping on the pedestrian crossing to the local Tesco store entrance - his excuse - "That's where the customer wanted me to stop" so that makes it OK then you moron.
Well Millie Syria seems to have something in common with my area. The council won't do anything because they seem to be more interested in political-correctness.
I'm talking about parking on pavements galore and blocking everyone's right of way. I'm talking about double parked; parking on blind bends; shit left everywhere; building rubble strewn across the place; tail-gating; speeding; not giving way and the crem-de-la crem, racism against many people especially white people, who so much as complain. Lone white females and disabled people avoid it like the plague and for good reason.
No, we don't need to go to some middle-eastern shit-hole to see the way many parts of this country are turning out..
Should the taxi be allowed to stop on double yellows?
Should the taxi be allowed to park on the pavement?
If not then why is it an over reaction? If every driver did this without thinking of the consequences wouldn't this country be in a worse state?
I think the OP was right to report it
Without reporting it the taxi driver will not learn that it's wrong
Now you could attempt to say it was a dry warmish day and the mobility scooter rider wasn't that concerned - how do you know?
Would your "over reaction" comment be different if it was pissing down with rain or snowing?
As the taxi company and the council have said, according to the OP, the taxi driver was wrong
So come on explain your "over reaction" in more detail
I'm not saying it is OK. I'm saying it is a complete over reaction ya bunch of morons.
p.s. you will find my father's details in the phone book under Mr Tant.
Millie or is that Igman in disguise because Igman can't differentiate between riders (cyclists/motorbikers/mobility scooters (hint - handlebars)) and drivers (vehicles with steering wheels)
There is zero difference between persistent pavement parking and parking for a few seconds
A pavement is for pedestrians and prams and mobility scooters
A road is for vehicles
The passengers would have only had to walk 50mtrs max to get in or out of the taxi but no both the taxi driver and the passengers are too lazy to care about the effects on other people.
If D G Cars say it's wrong
If the Council say it's wrong
If the law says it's wrong (parking on double yellows)
Why do you think it's acceptable?
Generally speaking, in London it's illegal to park on the pavement but not in the rest of the country. If there are yellow lines on the road, like in this case, they cover pavement parking too.
To all the sad gits on here. There is a huge difference between persistent "pavement parking" and dropping a taxi passenger off for a few seconds. I would guess that the scooter driver appreciates that, but I won't go as far as the original poster in assuming that she is as outraged. If I took the same attitude I would have a stroke very time I have to wait a few seconds because a dog walker blocks the pavement in front of me when their dog wants to sniff a lamp post. An act that is usually longer than dropping a taxi passenger off.
@ 2017-04-06 02:44:40I see this a lot.
"There's a situation going on near me with a certain person etc"
Having previously questioned this with Notts Police - with pavement parking you can call the police if your access is blocked (ie pushchair/mobility scooter etc) but it's not a priority call and therefore could take up to 3 hours before a police officer could attend (if you are lucky) << pathetic
So any old/infirm/disabled person or a parent with pushchair must wait in the cold/wet weather for God knows how long for the police to attend << pathetic
TO ALL PAVEMENT PARKERS
Yes I know some streets weren't built for cars but then again some homes weren't built for multi occupancy and 4 cars but that still doesn't give any driver the excuse to park on the pavement just like pedestrians don't have the right to walk in the middle of the road slowing all traffic to a crawl .
If you can't park safely on the road where you live then park somewhere else and walk a little bit more
I'd love to join an Anti Pavement Parking Protest whereby every protester walks in the middle of the roads to take away the right of access to drivers like some drivers take away the right of access on pavements.
"3 pics no other cars driving"
The time difference between the 3 pics is 1 sec or did you miss that?
They are captures from the video which was only about 8 secs in total and I thought it would be better to get screen captures to make it easier on the eye

"you should not block the mobility scooter you drove passed so you know they where on the pavement coming that way"
What?
I see this a lot. There's a situation going on near me with a certain person and their associates regularly blocking a blind bend near a junction on a residential street. There's a company logo on the side of one of their vehicles so I guess they think that makes it right?
But what can you do? Councils are reluctant to act and so are the police. In London they tend to clamp down heavy due to their being specific laws (well we all know how much London wanted to be special during Brexit didn't we..).
no need to park there 3 pics no other cars driving , you should not block the mobility scooter you drove passed so you know they where on the pavement coming that way
D G Cars and Gedling Borough Council have both been contacted
D G Cars without actually seeing this page accepted that if this did occur it was totally unacceptable and they will discuss with the driver.
Gedling are yet to respond
Al if you had a disability and your way was blocked, would you say the same? You obviously lack empathy and would be happy to park blocking disabled access.
@ 20:20:18. That's not the point. The parked vehicle is causing both an obstruction and a hazard. This includes parking opposite a junction. The person in the mobility scooter has every right to be on the pavement and should not be forced into the road. And this situation happens a lot.
And just how long do you think it took to collect/drp off a passenger and pull away? Get a life you sad git. There are more important problems in life.
