Geeze you cyclists need to learn to read the road. It was so obvious what this guy was going to do plus you were in their blind-spot when they moved across (with indicator) Try taking a defensive driving course! When the woman steps out there was nothing there and then you come flying around the corner. Expect the unexpected ( as pedestrians should, but they aren't road users)
Also to point out. If the only time that driver checked their mirror was when the cyclist in question was in their blind spot, then that wasn't sufficient checking. The cyclist wasn't going fast and for a considerable amount of the time the cyclist was behind the driver. If the lane is occupied then doesn't logic suggest it's not safe to cut in front of another road user, forcing them to slow down? Me personally, I would have let the driver in - if I'd seen them in time and ONLY if it was safe and practical to do so. IF the driver did see the cyclist then why did he cross into his path? Because the cyclist isn't an equal? Because I as a driver had my indicator on? None of this washes. None of it gives the driver any right to create danger for others. The cyclist didn't appear to wave them on. So again, why do it?
"Geeze you cyclists need to.." I think you need to get a sense of proportion. Perhaps you should follow your own advice to "expect the unexpected" - I ride a bike; I am not "you cyclists", I am an individual. When you know me, you can judge me. It's no better than almost being hit by a drunk, speeding driver and saying all drivers drink and speed. It's illogical and when taken to extremes by ignorant drivers, it gets people killed..
Reversed 2 car lengths and kept going into the area where I would have been had I not picked up my bike and got onto the pavement. When asked what he was doing he said I shouldn't be on the road.
