I don't think things have ever been as clean in this country as they are today. Years ago, before the sewers were built, people in London would defecate in buckets and throw the contents out the window into the street below. You'd have to hope it didn't land on you, if you were walking by. There were a lot of health issues then, as I'm sure you can image.

I've witnessed people doing this even before most public toilets closed. Usually they stop at the side of the road and hold the young child over a gutter while it does its business. It does seem to be a "thing".

A very common sight, William? In bushes, yes; not in public streets in front of everyone. Most people would find it disgusting. If the kid has a health issue then I suppose there isn't much you can do but a lot of how shall we say, travelers and other people? to this country have appalling manners. In a recent case certain families illegally camped on a field gave their children socks to wipe their own crap..on kid's playgrounds. THAT didn't happen years ago! However, it seems to me that in this day and age the only thing that turns certain heads is when the public film what's happening..

white ford kuga or 4x4 - the overweight lady passenger (who looked East European) stopped outside our house, got an infant out and proceeded to allow the child to urinate on the pavement in a squatting position, leaving toilet paper there! Incredible!
