I'm hoping (but I know it's a pointless hope) that the police were involved
And that the driver was summonsed to court and prosecuted for careless (if not dangerous) driving
And that they were fined and told to pass an advanced driving test before being allowed to drive again
And issued a section 59 warning that if they ever did this again there driving licence would be revoked permanently
Told you i was a pointless hope
Why so harsh a punishment?
Just like any other crime - as a country we punish more the victims than we do the criminals
There is no deterrent - this same incident will happen tomorrow and the next day and the next - only when some well known actor/media personality or politician is involved directly will "they" look at this in more detail until then we "the people" must suffer
