I will never understand the angst from some drivers towards cyclists and other road users.

It takes a few seconds to slow down, move over and pass safely. A few seconds.

Those few precious seconds you're trying to save in passing dangerously could cost someone their life.

Will never understand the thought processes of this type of person.

I'm through trying to understand. All they do is try to legitimise their own stupid, ignorant hatred. If they refuse to drive legally and respect other road users, treating them as equals, then tough shit: fines, bans and custodial sentences are the one thing they will understand.

Note to other readers/commenters
SidJames & Bibbeddy Bob are most likely to be the same well known troll of rate-drive.co.uk

In my opinion , and a well known fact, you don't feed the troll

The more you respond to it's pathetic comments the more it will continue.

In future please ignore these - let them go hungry

Well said. You're not the only one to pick up on this, trust me. There's many reports on here littered with their discriminatory rage..it's no different to the trolls attacking You Tube video's (perhaps these are the same one's). Also look out for a passive aggressive troll who goes by the name of 'Saun Saun', they mainly loiter on You Tube but chances are they will come here to feed their filthy habit. I think you make sound advice when dealing with these idiots morons..the more they are ignored the less chance they have of being taken seriously. I and others are with you 100% on this and I am no doubt sure the admins are watching these trolls closely.

Cyclist is 100% in the right. Cycling in the middle of the lane is established and taught behavior for cyclists and is taught by government funded cycling schemes across the country.

Cyclists wear cameras to protect themselves from people like this, as well as people whom would knock a cyclist off, verbally or physically abuse them and leave the scene.

If a cyclist using a camera's only goal was to 'wind up motorists' there would be a hell of a lot more accidents and footage than there is.

This sort of nasty human being is fortunately in the minority.

Cyclist 100% in the wrong.

Helmet cam on, wind up motorists, film reaction, upload to as many sites as possible.

04:07:43 said it much shorter than I could, but my contention stands. You are trying to blame an innocent road user (cyclist), for this driver's actions. You are defending the indefensible and your case would I feel be tossed out of court and rightly so.

Bibbeddy Bob I see no evidence to support your claims. Most motorists in this video were perfectly fine sharing theor road as required of them. The video also show's the cyclist's reaction to being verbally abused. And it's a public space. I think it is you are 100% in the wrong here, but if you must insist on, to coin a phrase, digging yourself an even deeper hole then by all means proceed. In the meantime I recommend you look up correct road positioning - hint: there's two lanes. The cyclist is fully entitled to use the full lane, and without prejudice. The cyclist also used hand signals to declare their intent. If you by chance for ONE moment think it's safe to over-take someone on a bike in the same lane..to verbally harass and threaten them..then YOU shouldn't be ON the road!

Actually it's you that's wrong. Hence the reason you make general statements rather than address known facts. Used any other names to post crap today?

Here we go again......
Another self righteous 2 wheeled muppet who uses the word 'primary' as an excuse to cycle in the middle of the road. Your sole purpose for doing this is to piss motorists off and film their reactions, then post it on sites like this! Jesus wept!
Let's see how much sympathy you little dicked cry babies actually get......

There is nothing funnier than a cyclist getting pissy over the pedantics of "middle of the road" vs "middle of the lane"

"There is no such thing as road tax" doesn't even come close.

Sid, If you're not prepared to act like an adult and respect other people then I basically hope the mods ban you, your IP and if needbe, your IP's range. All your abuse proves here is that you provide nothing of substance; that your whole ideology is based on nothing more than hate; that you are a detriment to this service, one that decent people come to use after a hard day's work and simply want to read reports in peace without people like you trying to ruin everything for everyone else just because you can't deal with the outside world. If you really want to waste people's time with nonsensical hate then please go and do it in a more suitable environment - if this were 1930's Germany you'd be the type spitting and shouting at Jewish immigrants. Move on with your life and learn to respect others.

Your comment proves how utterly dire your comprehension of road safety and spacial awareness are.

1. The cycling wasn't cycling "in the middle of the road". They were in the middle of the LANE. There's a difference.

2. Cycling in primary is recommended by ALL respected cycle craft authorities, including the AA, the national Bikability Training Scheme as well as the government's own advice. It is also perfectly legal.

3. You're clearly using this video to spew yet more hatred towards cyclists as a group. People are wise to your agenda, and I hope the powers that be take the appropriate action. You troll countless reports here whenever a cyclist is involved and you need to get a life.

All you've ended up doing here is deflating your own argument - and hopefully your own self-obsessed ego. Time to grow up, we all have to do it sometime. Alternatively you'll eventually get yourself banned for posting irrational hate on the Internet. GET A LIFE!

As much as I hate cyclists riding in the middle of the road, they do have a legal right to do so.

Reportedly abuse and threats towards people going about their lawful business. This is what many cyclists have to endure on a regular basis, merely for adopting the safest cyclist position as recommended by all respected cycle craft authorities including the government's own advice. The driver deserves a fine in my opinion.. let it be a lesson to all the others out there who think they own the roads and that they can abuse cyclists for the sake of it. Watch out. The camera is on YOU!

Well handled by the cyclist. Brought the ignorant driver down a peg or two. Oh and driver, this video is now public and rightfully so. It's also been saved many times I might imagine. Perhaps if you learned to drive and share the road properly and you won't get yourself into these situations. It's as if you want to get yourself prosecuted for one or possibly more public order offenses?
