Hump-Back Bridge
Approaching a humpback bridge – check mirrors and slow down. You cannot see over the bridge so assume that something will be approaching at speed from the other side. You must be prepared to stop within the distance you can see to be clear. On your final approach give a toot on the horn and be prepared to stop – keep your eye on the limit point. Creep and peep until you can see that the road ahead is clear, then check your mirrors and make progress to a safe speed.

Do NOT go too fast over a bridge when you can not see the over side.

DANGEROUS DRIVER! DRIVING 2 INCHES FROM BUMPER AT 65 MILES PER HOUR. THIS IDIOT SPED UP WHEN I INDICATED TO CHANGE LANES TO OVERTAKE A SLOW MOVING LORRY WHO WAS GIVING WAY TO DRIVINGS JOINING FROM SLIP ROAD. HE WAS TRYING TO STOP ME FROM GETTING INTO THE OVERTAKING LANE (AS MANY DRIVERS DO) WE WERE GOING WITH THE FLOW BUT WITH A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE CAR IN FRONT. ON BUSY DUAL CARRIAGEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR. I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO HIT US! THERE WERE CARS JOINING FROM THE SLIP ROAD AND SEVERAL LORRIES ON INSIDE LANE AND THE ROADS WERE WET. WE ARE NOT ALL IN A RACE! WE WANT TO GET FROM A TO B SAFELY! PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED HARD TO PAY FOR THEIR OWN VEHICLES USUALLY DRIVE WITH CARE. NO WONDER THERE ARE SO MANY ACCIDENTS WITH IDIOTS LIKE THIS ON THE ROAD!
