Speaking personally. Seeing as the BM was just at the width restriction before you, I would have just let it go rather than make some sort of point.
On this point, a few years ago as reported in my local newspaper, the council put in one of these width restrictions. Later the local constabulary informed the council that it was a dangerous obstruction with the potential to force vehicles into a head on crash situation. It was very quickly removed.
I made eye contact with this neaderthal at a red light and found myself double taking to check I hadn't woke up in rise of the planet of the apes he returned his eyes to the road and began revving his puny engine with sounds that can only be compared to the crazy frog it appeared I had earned myself a childish race from the lights.
I left him sitting at the lights as I believe he stalled his car either that or he couldn't figure out which pedal was which they do say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. You can put a chimp in a car but it doesn't mean he can drive
I look forward to the next time I bump into him as while I was looking out my window into his eyes it took me back to my childhood of going to the zoo and looking at the monkeys through the glass
So I drive a 40″ bus around my campus. I am among drivers all day and see oodles of weirdness.
Today, for example, during the AM rush hour.
I’m in the turn lane to go left with about 5 cars in front of me. The green turn arrow comes on and the first car doesn’t go right away. So someone about 3 cars back pulls out of the turn lane and goes into the on-coming traffic lane to turn left. Of course, by this time, the first car and others began moving and the car that pulled out tries forcing their way in, almost getting hit on the passengers side. Their decision to pull around the other cars wanting to turn doesn’t even make sense.
Or another one earlier in the week. I am at a stop sign – which happens to also be a bus stop – and had my hazards on while picking someone up. There is an SUV flying down the road approaching this 2-way stop. On-coming traffic doesn’t stop, just me (going straight) and those wanting to turn right. The SUV pulls along side my bus, half in the on-coming traffic lane, and barely stops and just glares at me. In most situations, you aren’t even supposed to go around a bus with hazards on, let alone a narrow road with approaching traffic that doesn’t have to stop.
Any bad-driver stories you would like to share? I am endlessly amused by drivers!
I legally went around the driver and then he became belligerent and aggressively made sure he got back in front of me by going on the shoulder of the road and passing several other cars by driving extremely recklessly.
This car was driving along Marlpit Lane when the car I was a passenger in turned out of Durley Road. As the turn was started the car wasn't in sight but appeared on the other side of the first speed bump during the turn. The driver made no attempt to stop or even slow down and actually moved into the centre of the road so he could take the speed bump centrally. He continued to drive at the car I was in until just before contact when he finally stopped. When I got out of the car and pointed out he was being an idiot he insisted he had done nothing wrong and it was our fault. Meanwhile the driver of the car I was in had reversed so that the other car could drive around. Instead he drove straight at the car, in such a way that it appeared he would hit the driver's side of the car. He then reverse to drive round the car, perhaps because he had realised there was a car behind who could be a witness if he hit a stationary vehicle. This man seemed to be deliberately trying to cause an accident by his aggressive driving.
Car illegally used the bus lane, undertook at a junction and then weaved without care back to the right lane, inches from knocking me off. Driver only got to the next lights (and the one after that). Not only dangerous, but also pointless. Driver then made threats, abusive language and was incredibly aggressive. Should not be on the road. Also check number plate as the plate CA60 HKZ does not appear registered. Vehicle may be stolen.
There is thick fog around on the roads this morning and you can barely see more than a couple of feet ahead in the gloom, but that didn't stop one callous lunatic overtaking me in this village. The speed limit is 40mph, which I was doing, so not only were they driving blind on the wrong side of the road - there is no way they could have seen oncoming traffic - they were also speeding. All this so they could get one place ahead of me on the queue into Nottingham (there was slow-moving traffic ahead). They put their life, my life and the life of my unborn baby at risk. I hope next time people see this car it's in a ditch - other drivers will be safer without it on the road.
