Driving in excess of 60 MPH on country lane & had to pull onto verge to avoid collision as driver had no intention of slowing down. It was a good job I was not an HGV,Agricultural Vehicle or Horse rider
lunatic young and aggressive driver. Drove wrong way down a one way street nearly causing an accident. When i stopped he was both verbally and physically threatening.
As I was cycling, I saw the driver of a white Astra minivan, KL05 CLN, heading down the hill at approx. 50+mph on Luxborough Lane, Chigwell, at 9:15, Thursday 11th June.
Approximately 5 minutes later, he drove back up now driving at approximately 40mph. Clearly seeing me on a bike, and clearly determined not to give me any room, even though I was virtually on the verge, he overtook nearly clipping my right handlebar. I felt there was at best a deliberate unhelpfulness, and at worst an attempt to intimidate a cyclist without provocation. At the top of Chigwell Road, I got his number plate and saw that he was a rather severe and aggressive looking chap, whom looked like he'd enjoy a good old punch up. Without photographic evidence, I am more than happy to be doubted or disbelieved; I know that cyclists will accept what I say, regardless of how truthful I am being, whilst conversely, drivers of white vans will assume I was to blame even though I wasn't. I'll let you make your own mind up. ;-)
Undertaking on an icy roundabout nor Scotland farm. Then stopping to shout abuse. Total numpty!
