I usually get stuck at that point because of people who are too lazy to use the carpark. They just swing onto the pavement straddling the kerb and throw open their doors regardless of the traffic. Then everyone else gets caught up waiting to get past while inconsiderate moron pops inside to buy his white plastic bread and a packet of fags.
Im sorry he tells you what you should do, Not a racist or anything but it sounds as if he has not been here that long as it was real hard to understand him at the best of times, LO08 UDX he delibretely cut you short too as he cut off your cycle lane, So both cabbies were to blame
Bit of a tough one this, over congested roads and everyone more important than the next guy. Unfortunately the cyclist will always come off worse so best just try to avoid drivers like this and not provoke them.
