Workmen think they are a cut above others. Many have a sense of grandiosity thinking they are entitled to more but this shows they need this preferential treatment to compensate for the inferiority they are trying to hide. Especially so with Highway Maintenance and outdoor workers.
Let me ask, how much room does a cyclist need? IF its 2 metres, then maybe a bit tight. If you need that much space, you cant ride. keep off the road before you get hurt
