The driver's comprehension of the Highway Code appears to be dire. And he claims to drive a HGV? Scary.
It's obvious the cyclist wasn't "taking up 3/4 of the road" and wasn't "in the middle of the road". It's physically impossible. The cyclist has a lawful right to ride primary and this is also backed up by the police, the AA, the RAC and the government's own advice.
You, the driver, were too close. You claimed to be aware of the cyclist's position and yet you were too close. You should have given the cyclist the same amount of room as a car.
The reason many cyclists ride primary in situations like this is because of ignorant people like you - why don't YOU read YOUR Highway Code and give more room! It is a tricky road but there is no need for you to make it even more difficult by refusing to accept cyclists are equals.
Another cager thinking they own the roads and the people on them. If he can't over-take safely or wait then the solution for him is simple: don't drive.
Looks like he was slightly hung over - red eyed cager!
I don't think anyone knows the highyway code anymore - its more like new deli driving all over the country
