Also hope this has been reported to the police. My policy is, if they get inside, I do what it takes to protect myself and my family if that means running them over then so be it. Unfortunate yes, but necessary. You don't take chances with people like this and you don't come down to their level.

You mentioned that you was hit at 40MPH? I'd be very surprised if that was the same car if it was just the badge (and number plate it seems) that came off.
Speaking of which, if that did fall off, why didn't you collect the debris or did the (Merc) driver do that before driving off?
